I am looking for a 2013 or 2014 model S P85 or P85+ & will pay between $85k to $93k depending on miles, condition and options.

Must have:
Tech package
Smart air suspension
Sound studio (ultra high fidelity sound)
All glass panoramic roof

Please PM me if you are selling. I am interested in really any color except for red. Thanks!

quite a few owners are gonna upgrade to a x and the bmw i8. ive talked to quite a few, and they tell me this, also motor trend has a under cover p85+ only thing missing is the staggered wheels. im trying to get that one now, but just a heads up in case you got connections.

yea, a good amount of folks have decided to upgrade to the +. but the p85 was the best until the + was released.
but motor trend got one of the first + cars since they were doing testing on the MS. they just were not given the tag or the wheels so as not to stand out. but it was a good way for tesla to have someone use the best car as a mule while under cover, i thought it was clever.

so if that car was used and has 30,000 miles on it, tagged a p85 but has + upgrades, it could be quite a steal, and to think if they some how still never registered it, the new owner could get a easy loan and all the rebates on top of a killer used discount. not bad if i do say. hopefully they dont gut it.

I also appreciate everyones OPINION BUT if you look at recent sales ($88k Ohio Green 11k miles every option but cold package - $92k White Illinois 6k miles every option but parcel, twin charger & parking sensors sat at dealer for 4 months!! - look at Dupont Registry Dec 2013-March 14 - was asking $99,900 & before another person asks where my data is from, look at Audi dealers trade data as Audi gets these cars on trade more than anyone) Looking at ASKING prices on cars that HAVE NOT SOLD on Autotrader is not the way to judge the market on these cars. I'm not asking for a huge discount. If you have a P85+ I urge you to take it somewhere that will pay cash & compare my offer. The Model X is going to create a pretty large depreciation for EVERY model S owner. 13,000+ reservations don't lie!

Good luck to you -- but perhaps the fact that you don't have one interested response in nearly three weeks is what doesn't lie, and is the best gauge of the market value, rather than your hypothesis about the Model X causing a "pretty large" depreciation of the Model S. I don't see it. All cars depreciate but to think there are a ton of Model S owners who will flood the market when they get their Model X is wishful thinking, in my opinion.

+1. I don't get these guys that come here, demand cars for a certain price, and when nobody wants to sell, come back with examples that are not relevant. The bottom line is that the Model S depreciation is tiny compared to other cars, so you either pay what the market asks, or wait. Simple as that.

I think anyone who goes and gets a cash offer and thinks that is the value of the car is an idiot. I will offer $50K for any P85+ right now. Does that make the value of all of them 50K? Most dealers know little about the Tesla and how best to market/sell it so they purposely lowball the hell out of any trade in / straight purchase to make sure they are going to score when they sell it, or worst case they can wholesale it and still make a lick. I have also seen multiple (and I mean many) dealers who claim to be high end specialists who are selling a 60 and think its a P85, selling a S85 but call it a P85+, or selling a S85/P85 but calling it a signature series when it's clearly not. I would not trust any of the ads. I actually went to look at a P85 last August and it was not a signature (as listed), not fully optioned (as listed), and unless curbed wheels, a scraped air dam (visable from the front) and badly worn b-pillar trim is flawless then it wasn't that either.

Found one!

FEI, I had several PM (as requested) with people from this forum trying to sell their cars as well as dealers and do agree that a lot of people think a P85 or 85 is a P85+ BUT...

A true thanks to a special member (more importantly his wife for not liking the color) that PM me contact info on one he was negotiating a deal on but he passed, so I ended up buying it!
2013 P85+ Grey/Black Tech-Pano-Sound Studio-Twin Charger-Parcel-21" Grey Turbines-Carbon Spoiler in Los Angeles with 5900 miles. 1 celebrity owner, meticulously clean - had very small ding in rear trunk, thats it, near perfect. $114,770 MSRP

So before I say what I paid, I want to make it clear that I hope all members get the most money back possible on their investment BUT it seams like a lot of members don't understand the value on these cars & to think that a new model is coming out that A LOT of members have had reservations for will not effect the value then you will be in for a nice surprise. How many people really own 2 $80k+ ELECTRIC cars?!?

Just like in Real Estate, demand dictates price!! I will say though, the P85+ is a hard to find car. Tons of 85s & P85s out there but very few P+s. Location also dictates price as well - good & bad. In the case of vehicles for sale in California. This was a great thing for me. I agree with the member that said these cars don't appreciate as much as some. Which is another reason I bought one. It's not going to be worth half in 3-4 years like an S Class or Bentley.

BUT with that said I paid $78k for it. And YES it is a P+, which was also verified by the Denver & Los Angeles Tesla Sales Centers. Anyone in Denver can meet up with me to discuss our cars if they would like to see the P+ in person or better yet, I am eager to take it to Bandimere (1/4 mile track that's a mile above sea level) and smoke some subarus & chevys!! Would also like to go head to head against another Tesla!!

So long story short... I priced myself ABOVE the market a little - on the contrary belief of some members here. I DO APPRECIATE EACH & EVERYONE THAT PM ON THEIR CARS FOR SALE!! THIS FORUM IS AWESOME!!

Sorry, not buying it. You can post a bill of sale and I am still not buying the story.

Yep, unless the car has a salvage title, this story is entirely made up.

The vibe I get from these sorts of stories are either the "buyer" is trying to artificially deflate pricing in an attempt to help convince sellers to take an offer so he can get into a Model S or he's just wanting to make others feel like idiots for paying far more than he did. While it's not impossible that a seller could have been stupid enough to take such a crazy price, I would bet there is a story on this car if the price is legit. That being said, I don't buy the story anyway. It's only my opinion, but I am going to bet most people who have seen some of these antics in TMC or ther forums will agree. This same tactic (claiming some crazy price a car was bought for by a new member) used to be pretty common on F-chat. A guy would claim he bought at Challange Stradale for 70% of the going rate for a similar mileage/condition car. Most of those guys ended up getting banned if they were caught fabricating the story. I have seen transaction prices lower than what some people are asking but nothing this crazy.

I laugh at you so called adults with your conspiracy theories & bs claims. Did anyone post a question or an opinion poll? NO! This is a WTB forum, not a WYO (want your opinion) forum. If you really feel the need to make claims accept my challenge of taking a drive out here & see it for yourself. I just ran a 12.418 at Tesla night at Bandimere Speedway. Nobody came close to my time (other P85+ ran 12.78) so any stories or claims of it being a salvage or something is a joke. My P85+ is an extremely clean California car, one owner, perfect no accident carfax, had never even been into service yet, owned by a person with more money than anyone on this forum. Is it a possibility that a near billionaire could care less about $10k?? Has anyone tried to look up a P85+ on nada or kbb?? O wait, you didn't nor can you. Do you know what a CPA firm is? Do you know how they work? Do you know they dictate & contract the sale of automobiles, real estate, etc?

Anyone could make a bill of sale up so posting it would be as ignorant as several of your claims. Did I get a great price, yes. Is the car magnificent, yes. Does it sound like jealously is part of your problem, yes. Have I enjoyed paying $1000 for 2 michelins at 9000 miles, sure why not, I have the most amazing American sedan ever produced!!! Good luck to anyone trying to find a used model s!! There are good deals out there, don't let people on this forum that bought them new scare you away!!!

Guys and Gals,
Let's just call a truce at this point? All of the negativity is starting to get to me. There are so many smart and kind Tesla owners on this site that have had many healthy debates without name calling or insulting. If Denvergreenagent is lying then why even bother debating with him? If he's not let's all be happy that he got a great deal on a MS P85 +.
Have a great weekend to all!!
