What exactly are you looking for that the detailer work with Tesla?

Ideally, we'll have all the finish work done before we pick up the car (or have it delivered). We're not in Columbus. I'm trying to avoid the "yay I just my new car" being immediately followed by "drat now I have to surrender it to a detailer for 2 days".

Understandably, Tesla probably not keen to release a car to an outside vendor that has not first been delivered/accepted by its paying customer. I don't have a good solution to offer them either-- so this might all be an exercise in futility, and I'll probably end up enjoying the car for the first weekend and then waving goodbye to it for a few days... just like most of you have already painfully done.

I told my delivery specialist not to do anything with the car meaning not wash it. They did not wash it.
I took it to get the windows tinted the next day. This was only a couple of hours.
Then I took it to the detailer a couple of days later. They found a lot of paint issues (water spots) that would require a lot of work. The detailer even contacted Tesla and they came out and looked at it. In the end my car was with the detailer for 5 days!!! That was painful since I just got the car. But I think it will be less painful if you drop it off as soon as you get the car. Once you drive it for awhile you will not want to give it up for any number of days!!
My suggestion is pick up your car early in the morning and then drop it off at the detailer that day. The car should be done by the next afternoon/evening. If you are going to get Xpel put on then you want to get it as soon as possible before you do too much highway driving.
I live in Columbus, let me know if I can be of any help.
Good luck.
