Any other S60 in Canada?

Hello,

While I was randomly reading through this section, I noticed that I'm the only one here with S60. Is there anyone else with an S60? If so, how do you like the range? And what is your average consumption?

I was really glad I got the 85 when I realized the impact of pack heating in extreme cold. It will be interesting to see jow it goes for you next winter. Preheating in the morning will help.

No your not alone.

Go our S60 in May of last year so through almost 1 year of using the car on the prairies our average consumption is 210 wh/km, which includes preheating in the mornings during the winter. Spring/Summer and Fall range is predicable and we find we can hit ideal range without to much difficulty on longer trips. Winter average is probably closer to 250wh/km with bad days being into the 300+wh/km, a lot of which comes from the car sitting outside and getting cold soaked.

Basically when it is cold during the winter and we are out for the day I do not plan on more than half or ideal range being available for driving. Given we rarely drive more than 120km in a day its not an issue.

Hahaha, indeed!

Yesterday I noticed the jump in consumption when I turn on the heater while parked... I thought it would be interesting next winter when the whole battery pack needs to be heated :biggrin:.

Honestly, in my case it was the 60kWh or a Hybrid (Highlander)... The 85kWh wasn't an option for me, as I wasn't willing to give up any of the upgrades I currently have, except for the Grey/Lacewood/Yacht, but these were extras that were partially discounted from the total price (almost). Mine was a new inventory car.

So far, I don't have any regrets and I know I won't :wink:.

Very great and helpful stats. Looking at your numbers, I realized that when the S60 is range charged when the average is 300Wh/km, the maximum available range is 200KM, or 160KM when it is standard charged. Is that correct?

Same here, I rarely drive 100km per day, and I rarely take a road trip.

There are lots of us with 60's in Canada. Perhaps not in the forums, but I met several at the events.

Consumption is 223kw/km at just over 1 year ownership. 21,500 km. in the winter I recall it going to about 230-260kw/km and 180-210 in warmer weather.

Another 60 here in Toronto. I've had mine since March of last year and I'd say my usage stats are in line with the others here. I'm at about 25,000 kms now and I've successfully done (winter) road trips to the east coast of Canada, and New York City. I'm like everyone else on here in Canada that is really looking forward to the Superchargers. I had the chance to try the Darrien ones when I went to NYC, and I know they will blow people away in Canada. We cold weather people need 'em more than anyone.

Were you able to get more than 200KM out of the 60kWh battery pack when you had the road trip in winter?

I was able to do a 265km leg of a trip in January with 32km to spare, after supercharging to 201miles out of Burlington, WA, with snow tires on. But that was all highway driving at 105km/h. But our winters are't quite as cold as yours.
