Grant's Pass SC to Crater Lake?

Has anyone made a day trip of traveling from the Grants Pass Supercharger to Crater Lake and back? We are thinking of doing this when traveling down to California next month.
Looks like about 200 miles round trip, however quite a bit of elevation change.

Last year during the BC2BC EV rally, we took a day trip from Grant's Pass to Crater Lake. It was tight on milage because you use a lot of energy climbing but you get a surprising amount driving back down.

One more thing - When you get to the top you can take a bus tour around the ring road (if open, which it might not be in May) rather then use the remaining power left in your Tesla.

Wow. And I thought I was using a lot on that same drive last week at 394Wh/m.
How fast were you going at 450Wh/m?

Wind and rain are surprising factors on reducing (any, not just EV!) auto range. A 10-20 mph headwind is significant, giving the same effect as driving that much faster.
I've personally seen crazy Wh/mi numbers in heavy rain on I-5 in Oregon.
Don't skip on charging time if you're heading into weather. :)

I charged overnight at 7 Feathers Casino then topped off at Crater Lake RV Park when I went to Crater Lake in January. It's 7000 feet so used up a lot of juice on the way there but hardly needed any on the way back down.

There is a pretty consistent tradeoff of 6 rated miles per 1,000 ft. Every 1,000 feet you climb, you use an extra 6 rated miles and every 1,000 feet you go down, you get it back. If the hill is REALLY steep, you drive down hill much faster than up, or you have the regen in "light" mode, you may not get all of the rated miles back, but with a LOT of Colorado mountain driving experience, if you drive reasonably, you get the miles back.

Have Fun! It has been over 30 years since I was at Crater Lake in a Volkswagon Diesel.

Here's my experience. I did a range charge overnight at the Aeronvironment J1772 station at Chevron Central Point, 1510 E Pine St, Central Point, OR. Drove to Crater Lake via route 62 with stops at the Steel Visitor Center and Sinnott Memorial Overlook. Then drove up the west side of the rim and on to route 138 to 97 to 58 and then on to the Springfield Supercharger. I went within 5 miles of the speed limit throughout the trip. The picture of the energy usage shows the distance 223.5 miles, 63.8 kWh with average energy 285 Wh/mi from Central Point to Springfield Supercharger. By the way, this was done with 19" wheels (not 21" inch as shown in picture) since I just recently swapped them.

It's worth mentioning that there's an 80A charger at the OIT in Klamath Falls, OR now. I don't know how much this changes things, but I charged there successfully yesterday and think it would make the trip doable from the southeast side of Crater Lake. Charge at Mt. Shasta SC, range charge at the Sun Country charger at OIT and you should be OK.
