Small Model S Update

I got this tidbit of info in a recent e mail from TM. Nothing earth shattering but thought I would share it anyway ...

Model S prototypes will become available for viewing and driving next year.

I noticed that as well. I'd imagine they would have to be for an '11 launch (how weird is that to say? I always want to say oh-eleven)

Is there a time line on when Beta 1 will be available. I assume that the Alpha's are what they have shown so far now I want to see the real production deal.

A Tesla employee told me that the plan was to have Model S demo units in ALL the US stores sometime next year, and to have non-drivable mock-ups sooner than that.
