Autonomous driving Model S (Rinspeed)

Great to see that in Germany the Model S is used by Rinspeed as a showcase for innovation. It clearly deserves it. I hope to see more electric drive train innovations form the big German manufacturers and glad to see Tesla at the forefront of this development.

Interesting choice of colors for their chrome wrap.

Rinspeed Model S - Clean front end

I just saw an article on the Rinspeed Model S and they changed the front end and replaced the nose cone. I rather prefer this look:


minus the yellow sticker of course.

Nicely done - I especially like the flared edge scoops - the curves flow well with the rest of the car. I think though that the yellow sticker is to camouflage the fact that if it is left body colored, the curve of the front hood edge breaks up the flow of the front end. And replacing the entire aluminum front hood is probably not practical.

I have seen someone's rendering with a similar hood before (sorry, don't remember the source) and it looked good.

mehhhhhh. I love the nose cone on the Model S. I think the flared edge scoops are trying to look too much like the 2014 E Class

Not my taste for sure. IMHO a rather ungraceful treatment. I wouldn't call it "clean" as it makes much more busy work of the front end.
