Starting a thread for those on the East coast who are interested in convoying together to TMC Connect 2014 and then shipping our cars back. Reply here with interest. Once we have a sense of how many ppl are interested (vehicles) I'll start calling around to see if I can negotiate a group deal.

lol why would we pay for it to have it shipped back? then how do we get home? plane? then I'd have to pay for a plane ticket. didn't they establish this network so we can drive coast to coast for free? seems kind of silly to do the complete opposite! :)

Driving back takes time. Budget at least 6 days for a comfortable ride back. Not everyone has that much time avaiable

And there isn't an alternative route back yet, which makes the 6 days even harder to justify just to backtrack on the same route.

I'm just waiting for the I90 to be done between Washington and South Dakota, as well as a southern route back across Louisiana / Texas / New Mexico. That will give a nice round trip.

I'd love to have the first Tesla with WA plates photographed in front of The Southernmost Point buoy in Key West, but brianman would probably beat me to it :).

I've been doodling a crazy trip to TMC Connect, starting in my (current) home in Boston MA and ending in my summer home in Maine. Why is it crazy? Because it travels through each of the lower 48 states exactly once (cheating a bit by using Ontario and Montreal to get back into New England), and charging (at least once) in each state/province. 10,690 miles, about 167 hours of driving time. But unless Tesla gets super-busy installing SpCs, I think I'll wait until next year to do this.
