Rust on Turn Signal Indicator

Yep. I reported it in another thread (I think the one dealing with tail light condensation). I find I can wipe it off with my finger, so it seems to be coming from behind and "bleeding" over to the front. I try to catch it before it runs down on to the paint, because I think that will leave a stain.

Honestly, my car is so covered in salt, I can barely see those fixtures on my car right now.

That is not rust. It is the red tinge of embarrassment for parking in proximity to a Volt and a Prius. :tongue:

The service centre can replace these. I had one with this rust and one without. It recurs after polishing, so you'll want a replacement without the issue.

I have just noticed this is happening on my car.

I've got it on both of mine. From the beginning I was worried this would happen, as it is a thin peice of metal that doesn't look too great...

I was just advised by my local service center that the steel plates that have been rusting are going to be replaced by nickel plates. They are ordering and will let me know when they arrive...

Oh that's strange. I thought they were made of plastic?

Got the same problem on both side. Tesla replace them by new parts.

I wonder if they have these available for Sigs.... ( Noticing it on mine as well. )

Ya this is just an embarrassing car! I mean look at it god awful....

They have the sig etched ones as well, mine is a sig and had one replaced for rust.

That Chevy logo ruins the rest of it. Sorry.

Here is how mine looks.

I've also noticed that I'm getting rust on the chrome strip that runs across the back between the tail lights.

Any mention of whether there was a design change? It would be a shame if this were an annual event. I also need to ask about the chrome strip across the back as I'm getting rust spots on it now too.
