Can't play AIFF files downloaded from hdtracks.com

I downloaded an album from hdtracks.com in AIFF format, 96kHz/24bit and copied it to a USB. The songs play fine on my Mac. In the Model S the display shows the album and songs correctly, but all I get is static when I play it. Playing a mp3 file from the same USB plays fine. I thought the car can play AIFF files. Is the problem the high definition?

But are your AIFF files ripped from CD or downloaded 24-bit files?
