Thread: Rear View Cameras?

    Rear View Cameras?

Cadillac looked into this once for a prototype. Not sure if they ever applied it. The idea being of course to cut down aerodynamic drag of the side mirrors. Rear bumper cameras have been on RV's for years now and I think UPS has (finally) added them to their fleet. Feasible?

Backup cameras are pretty nifty. I like mine.

Are there legal reasons for not having a video "rear view mirror"?

The world loves to be deceived.

    Lots of regulations slow progress.

Since every new car for sale in the USA has external side view mirrors I assume that they are required.

The same seems to go for the windshield mounted mirror.

Yes, it would be nice to just use cameras.
