This year` gala edition of the leading driving event for sustainable mobility in Germany was invited to start directly from Frankfurt Motorshow for the 1 st time. So 45 most innovative vehicles with almost 100 international participants - incl. multiple CEO`s - joined at 13.09.23013 for their journey along Bertha Benz ` traces ! It became another huge succes without any incidents or technical troubles despite rainy conditions on saturday morning and the various prototypes participating.
Highlights were the Rimac One, Protoscar Lampo 3, Suncar - Evora Hybrid from ETH Zürich, but also Mahle` Audi A1 RE ( 45g Co2 /100 km ), the Twike XP4 and the biiista boys from Austria. Everywhere the e-bikers showed up they became the epicenter of interest.
And all participants were very enthousiastic about the visit of the Dr. Carl Benz museum, where 125 years automobile development is displayed LIVE with real objects like the genuine Patent Motor Car No. 3. It is the world oldest car in original condition !
But also the rest of the programm offered more than enough content, variation and time for valuable discussions and acquisition of new contacts. And of course the laps on the Hockenheimring were an electrifying experience again for all, especially since the track was quite slippery and the safety car ´speed was not that slow .....

In 2014 Bertha Benz Challenge will start again Frankfurt , then from Automechanika trade fair, which will have a dedicated hall for e-mobility for the 1st time. Ideas to enhance the event further are already being discussed, more info will be released in near future !
Of course we look forward to welcome more participants from abroad again next year ! All cars with valid license and insurance for german public roads, thus also prototypes, can be registered.
