Any experiences with Escort Passport Max radar detector?

Any Model S owners out that currently using the Escort Passport Max radar detector? I'm thinking about buying one but hope to hear any experiences w/ them from owners that have used them in the Model S prior to sending in my order.

Thanks
Greg

Probably a waste of time to buy. Many owners have posted poor experiences with windshield detectors and opted to go the custom install route, myself included. But of course YMMV and you might be able to get it to work centered over the cut out. However, isn't it illegal to have ANYTHING attached to your windshield in Cali?

My 9500ix didn't work through the windshield, I had to get the custom installed version. I think I paid around $2,000 for the Escort 9500ci installed and would highly recommend it. It is nice to have a radar detector with out looking at all the ugliness.

I think what's worse her in CA is that the CHP seem to mostly be using laser these days.

In this vehicle try to stay away from windshield mounted detectors. Beltronics Sti-R Plus would be the best custom installed detector to get today and if laser is an issue you can get a set of laser jammers but installing Jammers in not fun in the Model S since the sensors would need to be exposed for them to work.

I am having my Beltronic's STi-R installed tomorrow and Laser Interceptors. I borrowed a Passport Max for the last few weeks and its ok but not nearly as good as an installed system. Its definitely the best windshield mount overall but the Tesla is not well suited for it.

I found a great addition to the Model S, as these units (9500ci) allow monitoring of the 12 volt battery system. I programed the display to show battery voltage.
