Power Plant

I'm new to this forum and would like to know a little more about the motor that propels this auto. After reading "Suppressed Inventions" by Jonathan Eisen, I am curious as to the name Tesla and how it relates to this automobile. Tesla invented some very unique and mysterious things. Others, too, have invented miraculous engines that were very efficient. Is the power plant in the "Tesla" auto a standard electric motor? What makes it different or more efficient than other electric motors?

Has anyone ever considered using some of the engines that run on water or the ones that have already been invented but "suppressed"??

Thanks for your thoughts.
