Is Supercharging coming to Europe?

Since the Model S in Europe Mennekes Type 2 connector is limited to 45Kwh does this mean that Supercharging will never be an option in Europe for Tesla? Why would Tesla go this route and deny Europe all that supercharger goodness?

They've actually started building 6 SC stations. As confirmed by our local spies, work is progressing nicely at all of the sites. A couple have the transformers installed, and the rest have the foundations for the transformers going in. I think the ones furthest along are just waiting for the shipment of superchargers, and might well be ready for the launch on August 7th.

Edit: Just checking, the ones furthest along are positioned in Gol and Dombås. These superchargers enable travel between Oslo and Trondheim, and Oslo and Bergen/Stavanger. Two of the most travelled long-distance routes. So, having these SC at launch would be very good, PR-wise.

Paula den Dungen (Director Communications Tesla Motors Europe) appeared as a guest on the BNR Autoshow on the radio in The Netherlands this friday afternoon (August 23rd, 2013). She mentioned that on next Friday (Autust 30th, 2013) they will be present in Norway and they will be there regarding a Supercharger. That means that they will be cutting a ribbon, just like they did with other Supercharger stations. And at the IAA in Frankfurt in September Tesla Motors will be unveiling more about the Superchargers in Europe. So, we might see a map with red and grey dots on it.
