USB Keyboard?

Just had a wild idea, the console is running Linux AFAIK, any Linux kernel auto recognizes USB HID, i wonder if a USB keyboard would work for typing in the browser

the OSK is pretty bad, caps doesn't change the letters on the keys, there is no press and hold for alt characters, there is no gesture typing, no suggested words, no auto correct, there is no dual touch (press and hold shift while typing for caps and release to go back to lower case), i could go on but you get the hint.

and of course i would only use this while parked or waiting.

ill try this when i get home and report back, unless someone is closer to their car than me with a spare usb keyboard.

so i tried the following... (firmware 4.5 xx.65)

USB HP Laser mouse (basic 3 button) WORKS! shows up as blue dot

USB HP standard keyboard Not working :(
USB Logitech multimedia keyboard not working :(
Bluetooth Logitech MX5500 (mouse and KB) Not working :(
Bluetooth Logitech MX5500 (mouse and KB) via Bluetooth pairing not working :( (will not pair but can see in device list, the keyboard asks for passkey, i tried 0000, 1234, 8888, and tried pressing enter with no passkey)
USB Dell Standard Keyboard not working :(

even rebooted the console for the dell, the car will not provide power to the KB
