From the Factory to our Garage

On Oct. 13, my wife, Karen, and I visited the Lotus factory near Norwich, England. There we met Glyn Owen, the General Manager of Tesla Motors Ltd., Tesla’s UK subsidiary. We had coordinated with Glyn to arrange our vacation around the build schedule of our car, number 33 in the Signature One Hundred series.

That section with Sean the Lotus driver makes me think about completed Tesla test drives. Since the car is incomplete that means each new Tesla never hits the track with Sean. This kind of testing is common for production cars getting extreme shakedowns at company owned tracks like Ferrari and Corvette. So what happens on the MP end? Who is Tesla's "Sean" in California? What "track" does the car get shaken down at?

Side note: Will the new factory in San Jose have a track? (at least the cars are quiet)
