Escort Passport 9500ix issues with Model S

I have an Escort Passport 9500ix and have mounted it on the windshield of my Model S with suction cup. I have observed that the detector has trouble with GPS signals. It takes about 1/2 to 1 hrs before the detector can latch onto the GPS signal in the morning, however after that if one powers off the radar detector and power it back on it connects to the GPS signals immediately I have even tried to hold the detector outside the car via the sunroof, the problem persists. If the detector is moved to another car it works with out any issues....
Has any one faced similar issues and have been able to resolve it. Other GPS devices like iPhone or Garmin work just fine. The GPS in the Escort is used for information on speed cams and to avoid false alerts and static speed display indicators found on the road.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Interesting. Where is your 9500ix mounted? I have mine just to the right of the mirror mount as close to the headliner as I could get it. I seem to be able to pick up GPS fine there.

But I am starting to wonder if they stopped coating the window with the RF blocking film that others have had issues with. I have had no problems using my radar detector or garage remotes from inside the car.

I am going to get my 9500xi hardwired next week.

I have mine about 4" from above the dashboard. I will try to put it up near the mirror. How do you plan to hardwire the same. How do you plan to run the wire from top to the battery, are you planning to use the direct connect smart cord from Escort.

Yeah try moving it up, that is where the gap in the coated is supposed to be located.

I am going to let me installer find the best place to tap. Others have gone from the fuse box in the frunk, thought the firewall into the footwell of the passenger then up. I did some looking around and decided I would let a professional do it.

Tried my best to work with positions around the rear view mirror...but still no luck...
