Where are numbers published that show the "results" of CAFE standards and how many barrels of oil / gasoline cars in America are in fact saving (over x years), due to cars becoming more and more energy efficient?
It's hard separate this value out because the rising cost of gas has reduced the number of miles many folks drive their cars. In addition, the CAFE standards can be worked around by making flex-fuel cars which will add 5 mpg to the CAFE rating without actually doing anything.
