Paint Armor

I've never had "paint armor" on a car before and honestly, right or wrong, I always considered it a little silly. Maybe it's just that I spend too much time reading threads in this forum, but I'm actually thinking that I should investigate it. I passed on the Tesla option in part because I still considered it a little silly when I configured, but mostly because the partial hood coverage just wouldn't have looked good with a dark color and my car cleaning habits. Has anyone gotten paint armor put on at a shop in metro Boston? Recommendations on places to investigate? Or just talk me back into thinking it's silly--that's fine too, and a lot less expensive!
