We are going down a dark path if we continue to deny science in favor of special interest groups or corporations

House Republicans just passed a bill forbidding scientists from advising the EPA on their own research - Salon.com

Really, this is all about the role big money and big corporations play when it comes to lobbying and campaign financing. The Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision will be seen by future generations as one of the biggest mistakes of our time. Just the name "Citizens United" is a joke -- it is NOT an organization of united citizens but one of conservative groups financed by special interest groups which, at their very core, are against the interests of individual citizen in favour of big corporations. But I guess a society gets government reps and court justices that most reflect their citizens. I really hope Hillary wins the next election since one of the most important roles a President plays is appointing Supreme Court Justices.

It's a good thing people are looking at this. Underscores a simple reality: it's much less disruptive to stop exacerbating the problem than to clean things up later.

You are right Robert. But if we want to avoid geoengineering we should manage to lower the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere in its value, not only in its slope.
