Did you wire with 3 or 4 wires?
Mine was just installed today with 3 wires (no ground).
I am having him come back and change to a 4 wire system. Does that sound correct?

If it's a NEMA 14-50 the electrician should have know how to install it properly which is 4 wires if I have that correct. If you are getting a HPWC, the will install 3 wires and a 6-50 outlet for you to use until the HPWC comes.

If you get a NEMA 14-50 outlet (like the one pictured earlier in this thread) you need 4 wires. 2 hot, 1 neutral, 1 ground. If you get a NEMA 6-50 (welding outlet) you only need 3 wires. 2 hot, 1 ground (Model S doesn't need/use a neutral). If you are wiring a HPWC (or other EVSE) you only need 3 wires. 2 hot, 1 ground (they don't need/use neutral).
