Small update: I was wrong; no DS for me, psniff. I'll get a phone consult to go over safety things, but:

Also, a Delivery Specialist will arrange a phone walkthrough to go over safety information and then we can schedule an in person walkthrough sometime in January. As you can guess, we are being stretched pretty thin here and that is the reason we have to defer in person walkthroughs right when you get the car.

No big problem, although these weird little things are adding up to be a little irritating and make me nervous. Sale/reg'd in CA...but I pay MD tax, direct ship without DS...but I'll get an in-January walkthrough, "get my car in December"...but it'll probably come the first week of January, I have to figure out a good place for an 18-wheeler to drop off my car, etc. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited, but there's just enough little weird things that my other half is like "okay that's just weird" which makes me nervous.

It doesn't help that neither of us understand why apparently lots of people didn't want December, especially when almost everyone given the option seems to be jumping on the option. I think Tesla's "December surprise" e-mail just oversimplified things is all. Nothing nefarious! I just wish some of these little things were more transparent/made more sense. And they are definitely more hyper about the "sale" technically being in December, even if the delivery isn't, than I am.

But anyway! (shaking self) I signed up for it and these are small things (most of them total non-issues, honestly!). Only a few more weeks! W00T! Still can't wait.

This marks the first time I get to be indignant about someone with a bigger number getting their car before me. :-/

I sent delivery@teslamotors an email this morning inquiring when I might expect delivery (given that others had been getting the delivery button). I didn't get a reply from them, but I did get the button. not sure if it's a coincidence or not.

@jiaotong, I'm also in Vegas and have made contact with one other S owner to be. PM me if interested in having an S party once we've all taken delivery. I don't think there are too many of us.

didn't work with Hawaii, won't work with Vegas. They gave me a delivery window then pushed it back a month 1 day later.

Tried to go check, but the Tesla site is currently down. Maybe they're updating their database, gotta stay optimistic

Looks like I will roll off the production line on 12/28 and take delivery about 1/11. Why oh why did I press the YES button? I think I was pretty close to those dates anyway given I finalized on 10/6. Wondering if I can take it back and say 2013 since that is when I will get the car anyway. Dunno.

This is the exact information that my DS gave me when we spoke over the phone. I guess my excitement to get the car is overcoming my common sense about what I "expect" from a 100k purchase. Eitherway, getting the car sooner is better in my book. Maybe we will be on the same truck given our proximity.

The big bonus for me is being able to claim the $7500 on this years taxes. We are a bit short on deductions this year so this will help quite a bit.

Indeed! I've thought "hmm, why am I rushing--could've lived with March or whatevs." Then I think that I am obsessing about the car and spending so much time on the boards that I really need to get it sooner rather than later. It'll be like a shot of valium (relax, process is over and I have it!) and adrenaline (I HAVE IT!) all at once.

My signature countdown is for the estimated delivery of the car that I was given by my product specialist. I have the standard 15-31 Dec 2012 window for completion of the car. My goodness this wait is killing me. It seems the closer the date gets the worse the wait seems.

To any/all Tesla employees reading this - I've got money burning a hole in my pocket Tesla! Come and get it.
