If you go back to the old Tesla blogs you find early discussions outlining the great amounts of "ICE technology" that aren't needed for electric vehicles. Spark plugs, cam shafts, fuel pumps, catalytic converters, etc.
Unfortunately we still seem to need a water pump...
But we don't need a transmission after all.

The manual says the windows need to be adjusted at a Tesla store to change from soft top to hard top.
