I have been corresponding with a fairly senior person with the Ownership Experience team.
If you've seen the Bulletin Board on TM forums they say our Sig production has started.
I emailed and asked about a VIN and any more news.
Here is the actual email reply (I asked if I could share and was told yes but for us to remember everyone is off for their Thanksgiving)
"Hi John,
Yes the first Canadian Sigs loaded into general assembly yesterday! What it's looking like is we'll do delivery events in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal for the majority of our customers. It should be really fun!
I don't have your VIN yet, it should get loaded early next week to give out to everyone. Because of the US holiday everyone is off through Sunday. Next week should be exciting as we wind down US Sigs and enter the Canadian market!
Timing wise, early-mid December is a realistic expectation given that it'll probably take 10 days to get up to Toronto/Montreal.
And RFF (RFF is Roadster Friends and Family - Roadster owner general production) GP in the US about the same time as well. Almost all US Sig cars will be built by the end of next week. On Monday the team will try to contact everyone in the US to let them know.

When George B was in Toronto last week, he talked about "delivery events". I wonder what that might be? Even though I'm only a GP reservation holder, it would be fun to come out and see some of the early Canadian cars being delivered.Originally Posted by Jgdixon
I believe he was talking about "delivery parties", where a bunch of people come and get their cars simultaneously. The delivery specialist (probably a small team of people) could take them through the process together. If done well it could be a lot of fun, and accelerate the delivery rate as well.

The excitement ratchets up another notch! Thanks @Jgdixon for posting that email, and pointing out the official bulletin board post. It is great to go to sleep tonight knowing our Model S actually exists in an embryonic state in Fremont. I will definitely be calling on Monday and relentlessly after that to try to secure a VIN number on SS2.

Performance 85kWh, custom 19" Forgestar c5fv wheels, white ext, black/CF int, panoramic roof, tech, sound, twin chargers.
As long as these delivery parties do not delay my delivery I am all for it. I've got signature 7 in Canada and without sounding too selfish, if the next cars in Montreal are in the 50s or 100s I do not really think I would love waiting.
On a separate note, since it looks like early-mid december delivery and winter is coming I was wondering if anyone had spoken to Tesla about delivering the car with a set of winter tires already on and the summer tires "on the side"? Here in Qc we have to have winter tires on by december 15th and would seem silly to get delivery of the car and go to change wheels straight away (although I would love to have taken delivery with the 21" wheels").

Yes they will deliver your car with 19s and snows. I was also told they will store the 21s for you

I've been wondering if seasonal (or accidental / EOL) tire changes would be amenable to ranger visits for those that purchase the "unlimited visits" service plan (unless under exceptional circumstances I would not pay $100 for a ranger to change my tires if using the pay-per-use plan).
Has anyone inquired about this?
I'm glad to hear that, but customers in other locations should ask their local service center as it seems to vary by location - I was told "no" to both of those questions. (Well, they said they'd "try" to do the first, but were unable to).
