Model S trade-ins in FL

Update for FL

I had asked specifically about trading in my wife's SUV as part of us buying Model S. I had never counted on doing that and the AutoNation deals really don't look very good, but I heard officially that Tesla are not accepting non-Tesla trade-ins in Florida at this point in time. That may (I'm guessing likely will) change at some point in the future.

Thanks Nigel,

I am beginning to get concerned about the quality of the information I received when speaking with my Product Specialist prior to finalizing my MVPA.

I was told that I could have my spoiler handed to me during delivery. When a forum member informed me that Tesla officials told him that was not possible I wrote to my Product Specialist and he reversed his earlier position.

Likewise I was told that a Delivery Experience Specialist would contact me about 30 days to prepare the paperwork for a trade-in. Apparently that's no longer correct either. For me that doesn't matter much because my PT Cruiser is not worth much. However, I think others such as Dave were counting on the tax advantages of deducting the value of the trade-in from the taxable purchase price.

I wonder whether the 30 day prior notification that I was told I would get is still correct.

~30 day notification seems to be standard looking at the delivery thread.

30 days seems about right for getting a delivery window, but things are bit less refined once you get your final paperwork. In my case, I fedexed my paperwork and check yesterday, talked with Brandon (delivery specialist) today. Apparently, cars are loaded on a truck and are shipped to multiple regions (e.g., CO, then TX, then FL) along a route, rather than targeted shipments to FL. He didn't have a firm indication that my car had been shipped as yet, but is checking into it and will get back to me.
