Random ideas

Possibly good ideas:

#1: Mandate that all public parking garages must have solar panels on the roof. When people get "stuck" parking their cars on the roof they generally would appreciate the shade, and it is a large area usually unshaded, and with existing electric hookups (for lights and such).

#2: An "instant hybrid" kit for gas vehicles. Just a box with a motor, controller and batteries with two wheels and a trailer hitch to go on the back of gas cars. When sensors detect that the vehicle is accelerating it powers the eMotor to give an accelerative boost. The trailer is connected to the normal trailer light wiring so when the trailer gets a brake light signal it switches to regen mode. When the trailer gets a backup light signal it shuts down and activates an audible backup signal (and the backup lights). It wouldn't have to connect to the power or drivetrain of the host vehicle at all. It would keep the batteries charged just based on regen.
(Note: this is sort of the converse of the gas pusher trailer for EVs that has been discussed here before).

Not exactly new ideas, just ones that I think could be worth further consideration.

Some other "make a hybrid" kits exist, but I haven't seen a commercial mini-trailer version.
