Why Trucks are WAY Better Than Hybrids | The Truth About Cars

Commercial Auto Dealers » Are Hybrid Cars Good for Us?

Are Hybrid Cars Good for Us?

Posted in GMC on Monday, May 26th, 2008

There are people in our society who will want to make you feel guilty about going somewhere like a truck or SUV dealer to get your next new vehicle. They claim that hybrids are much better for us as a nation. But are their claims unfounded? Are hybrids really that much better for us than trucks? This blogger doesn’t think so. Here’s why.

Despite the belief that hybrids emit smaller amounts of greenhouse gases, this doesn’t necessarily mean they are the “next best thing.” In fact, many people who have driven hybrids for a long distance have reported that it made them drowsy. With their quiet motors and lack of exhaust noise, you can’t hardly tell the car is on! That could be a problem for people who want to drive at night or even during the day after a long shift at work.

But that’s not even the half of it. The electricity that the car uses to operate the vehicle isn’t good for our health either. In some studies, this exact type of magnetic field has been linked to leukemia in children and other health problems. Organizations like the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute have also admitted the potential hazards of hybrids because the driver is exposed to long periods of electromagnetic fields. Some even liken it to living in a neighborhood where these high-voltage utility lines are present.

So if you want that large truck or SUV, don’t hesitate to visit your local GMC truck dealer. And if a hybrid-lover gives you grief, just smile and walk away secure in the fact that you won’t be subject to the same potentially harmful electromagnetic fields that they encounter every day.

LOL, it sounds like a desperate plea with weak arguments. I expect them to start saying that EV's give you cooties.

*sigh*

We can expect to see more of these unsubstantiated "Electromagnetic Fields make you Sterile/Age Prematurely/Love Barbara Streisand!" headlines.

Too little noise: kick ass speaker system, problem solved.

Electromagnetic field which is just as dangerous as high voltage lines. You mean the same lines that are proven to NOT be a health risk.

Gasoline vapour on the other hand is a chemical which is marked as an irritant and mildly damaging to your health.

May I suggest this guy takes night classes in debating, it might do him good. Just make sure theres no exhaust fumes in the vicinity as that's not good for you either :)
