However what the viewer sees is what they see, and I notice on the interweb that there is a grumble and a rumble in the air from some of our regulars: we’ve lost the plot, we’ve disappeared up our arses, we’re scripting everything, we’re predictable etc etc, so let’s deal with that.
...
You have to make the programme you want to make, and people then vote with the on or off button. So although not many on Final Gear liked the electric car, we actually loved it, and we’ll make more of those any time we get the right idea.
...
It’s fair to say this incarnation of Top Gear is nearer the end than the beginning, and our job is to land this plane with its dignity still intact. But ironically, that does mean trying new things to the last, even if they screw up, because, well, it means you never stopped trying.
That’s the way it is with content, but as I say, the messages that resonate for me on these web posts are the ones that say: “Can we have our three old mates back?” Well, we will still continue to build electric cars and airships, because we like doing it...

The quotes above refer to the episode where they built an Electric Car, not the review of the Roadster.

Perhaps they can review well known presenters pushing their opinions on hydrogen as fact, particularly on programmes produced by the Open University (which for those not familiar with it, is a bona fide academic institution that pioneered the use of TV and distance learning to aid its curriculum and therefore carries some authority).
I may make an input. |

Well I work for a supplier into Tesla in Norfolk and having been in one I have to say that it is superb. The acceleration is spontaneous and extremely powerful and its so quiet its untrue.
This really is a replacement for a sports car.
Also the Top Gear 'Review'. Well all I can say is that there were a lot of very angry people at Tesla the day after that went out because, frankly, 90% of it was a lie. I know for a fact a number of Tesla engineers were on site and I would tend to believe them over Clarkson. It didn't break down, it didn't need to be pushed apart from loading it onto the trailer (which was the footage shown) to take it back to the factory, and the 16hrs charge time that was quoted was for a 110v supply of the mains in the use.
When you buy a Tesla they fit a unit in your house that charges in less than 6 hours, they also do an option pack for solar panels and a wind turbine to aid the charging.
I wonder how much Clarkson was 'influenced' to give the review that was given?
