Top Gear Cool Wall: the 2009 edition. on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Quote:
This month's Top Gear magazine came with free Cool Wall magnets. So, naturally, I had to arrange them on the freezer straight away. This isn't the best photograph, but you get the idea (I think).

At least they didn't stick it on seriously uncool.

The boss just came in and said "Did you see Top Gear last night, they decided to build their own electric car". Unfortunately I didn't, as I was doing something much nicer - having dinner out.

But I digress. Apparently (of course) they ran out of juice. At which point May says "let's put a diesel generator on it."

EDIT: The BBC appears to have removed the vid from Youtube. UK readers can watch it on iPlayer here. Some other clips have popped up on Youtube, but best to search for Series 14 Episode 2 yourselves rather than try to link them.

I'll PVR the whole thing for the repeat tomorrow.

I thought it was ok; comments like "Tesla put six thousand, eight hundred batteries in there for a reason James" and filing the car with diesel fumes made the article a 'It's harder to make an electric car than you might think' peice.

One thing though; I hadn't realised the REVA NEV was that cheap! It's a shame the jump in development & scale from NEV quad-bike to small actual car is so great.
