Since Google owns YouTube, I would assume one is no safer than another

Yes - that's what I thought. Facebook has now increased its video limit to 1GB and 20 minutes, so that might work.

OK I found the whole show. Never seen it unedited before. The BBC America versions are probably trimming out the studio chats for commercials.

Tesla Segment is in the first part and starts at 17:34
Top Gear season 12 episode 7 - Tesla Roadster - Honda FCX Clarity

The FCX segment must be in the 2nd part.

Here is Stig's run.195 Top Gear - Tesla Stig- Video

Notice how the best times were all small volume niche makers...
Gumpert, Ascari, Koenigsegg, Pagani

The big names like Porsche, Ferrari, & Lamborhini are left in the dust.

Good point! I hope Tesla ends up eventually making good on their threat to make a Track version of the Roadster. I see a lot of names ahead of it on the list that I would love for it to beat!

El Reg on the case: Tesla takes Top Gear test to task | Register Hardware

Quote:
The Top Gear segment gave the distinct impression that one of the test cars ran out of juice after about 55 miles of being caned around the show's test track at Dunsfold Park airfield in Surrey.

Not so, says Rachel Konrad, Tesla's head of spin. According to a blog post, neither of the test cars got below 20 per cent of maximum charge capacity and at no point during the day were the Top Gear boys without a working Roadster.

...

Says Konrad: "They never had to push a car off the track because of lack of charge or a fault. It’s unclear why they were pushing one into a garage in the video; I’ll refrain from speculating about their motives."

If it turns out that the BBC - not to be too blunt about it - made that bit up, we may not have heard the last of this. At the time of writing, the BBC has not replied to our requests for clarification.

I am smelling another law suit And I do see that the Raodster made the top 50 by the skin of its teeth. #50. Agreed that wet track/dry track would be helpful here. Perhaps they should consider testing all cars on a dry track or offering all the opportunity to come back for a dry track if they would like.

I have no problem with the lap time. It is close to was was expected here given its power and weight. Sure, dry track would give some improvement but this is England and dry track is a rare occasion indeed. 1:27:2 is a good time for all the circumstances.

But I do have a gripe with those made up "problems". Do report, but do not make things up.
