If Model S is finished enough to show, now might be a good time to pull back the veil and put it on the home page...

Tesla has a reputation as an exotic sports car manufacturer; they need to become more accessible if they want to earn broader support.

^ I think they missed a trick by not launching at the LA show.

I agree completely, especially since they seem to be catching a lot of flak(sp?) for only making cars for superrich. If they reveal their Model S and at the same time make more of an announcement about the Bluestar they might get a more positive response. The Model S is after all for the simple rich and the Bluestar is almost for the common man :)

They could always show it as a concept vehicle which gives them plenty of opportunity for tweaking the design and technical aspects. Just don't take regular orders before they've got the specs locked down.

Cobos

PS: Full disclosure, I really really want to see the Model S :)

I would add they should also show drawings of the Bluestar as well -or even a scale model. They could change the design later as is common practice.

In response to letters to the editor (thanks tomsax!), the NYT prints a correction. Damage done, though, I think.

Yes, thanks tomsax!

I wrote a letter as well, but I think this was better than mine. I agree with doug, though. Damage done.
