C/NET: Tesla Puts Tech in Economy Cars

Telsa Motors has formed a group called Tesla Energy Now to sell battery packs to other companies. Their first customer is Think Global.

More info here: http://news.com.com/2061-11128_3-6152975.html

I wonder if genuine Tesla battery packs will become available for converting gasoline-powered cars to electric? Seems to me companies like Left Coast Conversions would be eager to get their hands on that technology.

It'd be amazing if one of the majors picked it up...I won't hold my breath. ::)

At least, it's a step in the right direction :) I can see a great market opening up for companies that do conversions. Not that many around are there? At least, not in Europe anyway.
