LOL!
Yes, that is just awesome.
The look on your face just put the 1.0 grin back on mine.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the rest of us.

Thanks guys, it's nice to know the posts are appreciated.

Back to the day job now - could I get to sleep last night...? I'm sure my colleagues will be sick of hearing about it by the end of the day

It's strange - you can read about it and look at the numbers all you like, but there is no substitute for experiencing 'maximum torque at any speed'. Even around town to take advantage of a gap in the traffic, it's very useful and fun to have it on tap like that.

Wow! Some ride

Three cars for this event. Keeps me hopeful they'll take multiple cars to the Top Gear shoot.

Congratulations David. Thanks for the photos. Keep grinning.

Thanks Malcolm. News on the Top Gear thing is that it apparently isn't 100% yet. Fingers crossed that will change soon.

Some further evidence that the interest is going mainstream: http://pistonheads.co.uk/xforums/top...3&t=573072&i=0

Looks like they updated the article:

Tesla has confirmed that it is working with several major car makers to develop affordable, fully-electric city cars, with the first going on sale as early as 2010.

The new cars on which Tesla is collaborating with mainstream makers will be significantly cheaper and will not compete with its own Model S. Tesla says it can produce coupe, crossover and SUV bodystyles from the bespoke platform of the Model S, but is not actively working on them.
