I attended the tech talk last Thursday at the Natick Mall, and today I got to test drive the Model S for the first time!

I drove a multicoat red P85:

Here's the route:

Wow, what a car! I've gotten a ride in both the Roadster and the Model S, but I've never driven a Tesla before today. What an experience! I don't have too much to report that hasn't been said already. I obviously had the Tesla Grin  the whole time. It took me about 10 minutes to get used to the one pedal driving (no creep). It was weird at first, but it's actually pretty awesome once you get used to it. Before the test drive I was sure that if I was going to get a Tesla, I would need the performance version. Now, I can happily report, that I will most likely never need to accelerate that fast. The regular 85 would be absolutely fine. In fact, if it wasn't for the reduced range, the 60 would probably be fine as well. It's much more about the instant and full acceleration rather than the amount of acceleration.

I now more than ever look forward to the Gen III.

If you haven't test driven a Model S yet, I highly recommend attending a test drive event in your area.

So...I had the Tesla service center in Watertown install the an aftermarket Paint Armor on my car today and thought I'd share the results with everyone.

Although it's raining now, I just got the car back and I have to say that It looks pretty good. I can't see the end lines.

IMHO, there still is a hole in Eastern MA for people going to the Cape from the north, or people going up to Maine from the south. One at the intersection of the Mass Pike and 128 would be good I think. Hopefully, the'll continue building more in the future.

Before I buy a Tesla S, I'd like to know what the registration fees are in New Hampshire.
Has anyone registered a Tesla S in this state? If so, could you tell us what your fees were?
I tried to get this information from the local town office in Claremont. Initially the clerk told me that she could not give me a ballpark figure unless I presented a sales slip and VIN number. After a while she told me that it would be $18% of the purchase price.
On a $90,000 Peformance, that would be over $16,000.00. Is that true?

I'm headed to our office near the Children's Museum in two weeks and would prefer to charge overnight at the hotel rather than a public surface lot (though that will certainly work). I saw on another thread that the Lenox has a charger; does anyone know of other hotels closer to the Seaport that have public chargers?

As mentioned, the fallback is the Seaport Sq lot or others in that area.

Anybody interested in getting the Reus Audio upgrade? I know one of the forum members in NYC is having his car done in July and I spoke with the Reus staff and they were willing to come to Boston area during the trip. From what I have read on the forums, the sound upgrade to both systems is simply amazing and relatively reasonable in terms of cost. I am in the process of getting more information from them regarding details. The more installs they do, the lower the individual cost. Given their results and experience with the Model S, I think I would much prefer them to do it rather than a local installer. The post install tuning is as important as the install. My car is going in for a quick check to Tesla Service on Thursday and I am going to speak with Matt to see if he can help organize this. Let me know if you're interested. More details to follow......

Unfortunately, although there's a sigh saying non-EV's will be towed, there were other free spots, and it's right beside the Police Station, both bays were ICEd. With so few charging spots on the Cape, ICEing is going to be a very big problem I'm afraid.
