To bridge the gap, I put in a NEMA 14-50 and bought a UMC and thought my problem was solved. But the UMC turned out to be faulty, and apparently it's not easy to get a replacement, they are "back-ordered" and I don't know when they will become available again. So currenly I'm living on a 110 outlet. Not so much fun.

So I am looking for anyone who has a Roadster UMC that they are willing to sell, or willing to loan to me until Tesla is able to replace the UMC I bought with a good one, or until I get my garage built and wall unit installed, whichever comes first.

Obviously it takes Tesla and a producer to believe these models would sell - for those of us that would pay for a model, what would you want and what would you pay?

There are various types of models: die-cast, 1-piece molded resin, plastic piece kits, etc. And there are multiple various delivery configurations for each, such as: kits, one-piece model only, full dioramas, etc. What about variations of color, signature, , perf-vs-production, wheels, roof, etc. Finally, there's the whole target audience/quality level (which drives level-of-detail, size, features, and price): from very high-quality down to snap-tite models aimed at kids.

I personally picture a high-end die-cast or resin-body model in 1:18 (big) with all opening doors, frunk, trunk etc, lit headlights and taillights, quality interior with light-up screens! It'd have both wheel types, but would just feature the glass roof. If it's a custom built no-paint model, then it'd have to come in many colors, but at least sig red, and one or two others - maybe all? Obviously that's more expensive to make and justify than a simple blacked-out windows 'no-moving-parts other than wheels' model.

Thoughts? This is for charging and rebate purposes. For the rebate, I have to buy and mount a wired charging station, and in this instance the High Power Wall Connector qualifies but the Mobile Connector + outlet does not qualify.

I can do this by:
  1. Buying your used HPWC.
  2. Buying your used HPWC, and agree to sell it back to you for a predetermined price after 3 months (kind of like the recently announced Model S financing option!).
  3. Buying a new HPWC from Tesla and agree to sell it to you for a predetermined price after 3 months.


For 2 and 3, I'm willing to pay probably a couple hundred bucks (plus provide all documentation and packaging to ensure that the Tesla warranty remains valid). Presumably, you may not qualify for the rebate I'm applying for, but if you don't live in my area it's a moot point. Let me know!
