New Chrysler E-Rev (ENVI)

Supposedly Chrysler is unveiling a new E-Rev design on Tuesday with a 40 mile range and a generator range-extender. Sounds a little like the Volt:

In either case, good news if it is true. It had better be better quality than my Jeep or Chrysler is really screwed.

What is that a photo of? It sure aint the Chrysler e-rev with that (typical) Chrysler grill, not to mention that Chrysler hasn't unveiled it yet. The article didn't mention and I didn't read all the comments.

It's a concept, I'm sure. But for an egg-shaped vehicle, I take it any day over the Volt.

You know as much as I do. Should be interesting. I've been wondering if Chrysler would be able to fast-track a vehicle into production much like Tesla or smaller shop theoretically could do because of the private nature of the business as opposed to GM which is publicly owned.

"Chrysler made no secret of its intention to offer electric vehicles. About a year ago, Chrysler set up a business team, called ENVI, to develop a plan to offer hybrid cars and electric vehicles. At the Detroit auto show in January, it showed three mock-ups of what electric cars could look like."

Still though, they have kept under the radar pretty well.

That picture is of the Chrysler ecoVoyager concept. One of the three they showed off at the 2008 Detroit auto show mentioned above.

Eeeewww, it doesn't look so good from that angle. It looks like a pug dog. I bet my wife would like it, though.

I kinda like the Dodge ZEO though, at least a product version which is a bit less concept model.

The ecoVoyager on the other hand....ehwww. I'm glad I ain't a kid in the backseat there. The only exciting thing to watch will be my parents head...
