Second edition smart ed will go into series production in November — Autoblog Green

Sounds like a fun city car.
RWD, 71 miles range, about 230 lbs of battery under the floor helping keep the center of mass low...

Clever drivers can air condition their smart fortwo electric drive in advance as long as their vehicle is being charged at home - the long-standing dream of stationary cooling becomes a reality! No other car offers this comfortable option.
No other car, really??

Hopefully they change that CPC for a Mennekes connector.

62MPH top speed is disappointing.
With carpool stickers, going under the speed limit in the carpool lane will not make many friends.

If they did 70MPH top speed, it would be more workable as a daily commuter that includes short freeway trips.
