Also on the subject of image problem and advertising.

I talked to an Ad exec who handled the Subway (sandwiches) account. He was sooo done with Jarred the Subway spokesman. Unfortunately (for the exec) that Jarrad always tests and works real well. Every time a Jarred commercial airs in an area the sales go up. Can't argue with that kind of success. I asked about Jon Lovitz yelling "Eat Fresh!". He said that they were using him to push the non-diet fare. (looks like they have recently gone to Peter the Family Guy).

So here we have one company with two types of product in a showroom. It can be done

Cool site TEG.

I liked this page. It seems a bit more backed with details than the general cry of a "100 MPG carb" suppressed!

Bob Lutz is (mostly) right. Global warming is greatly overblown.

As for car makers fighting against CAFE, fighting against regulations. . . Well, DUH. The whole concept behind these regulations is to force them to do something they otherwise would not be inclined to do. Of course they're going to oppose them.

But most of the steps we need to take to combat the Climate problem are simply harmonious, smart and economical.
