Director – “Who Killed the Electric Car?” (2006) and “Revenge of the Electric Car” (2011)
Chris Paine is a writer/director best known for his film ”Who Killed the Electric Car?” (2006) and his follow up “Revenge of the Electric Car” (2011). “Revenge…” tracked Tesla Motors’ early upheavals and GM as it was forced into bankruptcy. His films as executive producer include “Bikes vs Cars”(2015), “Charge” (2011) about racing electric motorcycles, “Faster!” about Italian motorcycle star Valentino Rossi, and “No Maps for These Territories”(2001) about futurist William Gibson.
Chris serves on the board of the environmental activist group Friends of the Earth in Washington and Impro Theater in Los Angeles. Works in development include: “Do You Trust This Computer?” about the future of AI, “Diablo ” about the shutdown of legacy nuclear power plants, and a possible fourth EV film. Chris was raised in the Bay Area, schooled in New York and lives in Culver City. He can still hop into Tesla Roadster #23 semi-effortlessly.
