According to this piece, the output from this factory is only meant for one supplier. Elsewhere I read it was for Daimler.

That may be the case today, but no sensible company would avoid adding new customers :)

That's possible, but exclusive contracts never last very long in the manufacturing industry, a few years at most. They're a good way to finance a new project, but impede growth of the supplier's business.
