Several of us have heard that there will be a delivery in the Seattle area this or last week. Anyone got the scoop?

What I heard was "this week or next" last Saturday, which I took to mean sometime in the 7/8 - 7/21 timeframe.

I was told 2 weeks ago that it was last week but I don't think it happened. Then, Brianman heard similar news too. I think I read another forum member post the same kind of news too. So maybe a delay but it could be anytime now. With 3 independent sources, I am guessing that it has a small chance it has some truth to it.

Depends on who we heard it from. ;)
I heard it from Lance @ Bellevue.

I suspect Tesla will want to trumpet the next set of deliveries, whoever they are for. So I'm skeptical of anything like this, given what Tesla's own blog had to say Thursday about refining things based on the test drive experiences and feedback. It just feels too soon, no?
But I'm eager to read of new actual deliveries, whoever they're for, when they do happen! Especially the first "real" customers (with respect to founders, they're kinda special/different, from where I sit in the cheap seats ;-).

Probably also depends on the buyer, and how much he values his privacy!

It was not Lance, it was a different employee.

Well, yes. But I meant they would trumpet the fact, not necessarily who the buyer was. ;-) They can do that.

From the DC event, I asked a few people questions. But it seems to me each has an opinion but there are not a lot of facts. In that light I heard that the next group of deliveries will be in 1-2 weeks, all the Founders and a few more (whats that: 20-30?). i asked one guy about mine (S126) and he dug through some emails and guessed I would be Sept. That would be a month late from the estimate I got on the configuration response. One told me that Elon personally inspects each and every car. So I tend to agree, they may have a few details that they are holding up the line to clean up.

It looks like it has been processed with some sort of "blur filter". Makes it look slightly old like some of the Instagram effects.

I think the fact that the picture was exactly 612x612 pixels is a sign that it likely got processed through Instagram.

I am a Seattle fool with solar panels on the roof. The grey matters to them, rain or not. Seattle summers have far too much grey.
Of course, the winters are worse.

The first Seattle-area delivery was originally supposed to be "mid-July"; they had been hoping to have it for a July 14 event. Then late July. Now...late August or early September. No reason given for the delay.

It's probably due to some modifications they decided to make after the test drives started. I'm thinking that any delay will be for just the earliest deliveries of the production run.
My projected delivery date is the same as originally anticipated. I'm near the end of the Signature queue.

A mix of things. Actually, I look at small details like the power lines, shape of curbs and the street surface material, then I fly around in Google Earth looking for likely matches, then zoom in to Street View to check. Probably about 100 wrong guesses before I hit "pay dirt."
You might notice I had Google Earth in "exaggerated height mode" since the photo was obviously from a steep location, so I could quickly narrow down to sections that had similar height profiles. I spent a bunch of time virtually roaming around the top of the hill near the transmission towers before I realized it could be closer to the lake...
By the way, the street view photo was from 2008, so you can see a lot of changes to the landscaping since then.

TEG is the real "enhance" from CSI. It would be great if someone on CSI actually did this to get a location from a photo. Of course the director probably thinks that having some doofus in sunglasses say "enhance" until the answer magically pops out is better.

As far as I know, this is still true for this owner, who I believe to have the lowest reservation number in the area. But I wonder if some will be delivered out of numerical order, perhaps due to different options? Because I just heard that the Seattle-area delivery specialist (who I met after my Fremont ride) has a truck coming up before the end of July...no word on who the car(s) is for. Come to think of it, no word that there will actually be a Model S in the truck--I guess we will know soon enough.

Noticed in the photo that the out-of-focus blur starts suddenly about 2/3 the way up the telephone pole. I don't know of any lens setting that will do that!

I feel like a stalker. I saw a white Model S driving on 112th near SE 8th in Bellevue about an hour ago. It was so beautiful. *sniff* It still had the temporary tag in the rear winshield.
I feel stupid because I actually did a double take. I didn't really get much of a change to look at it because I was driving in the opposite direction. Man, I love the LED lights. At some point, sightings aren't going to be a big deal, but I'm thinking that this is the first time I've seen a Model S in the hands of an owner (though I guess I don't know for a fact that it really was a customer owned car).

Lucky you! I find myself looking out of the corner of my eye for one. I've even done a U turn thinking I passed one. It's going to be a long year! Can't imagine what it's like for the folks who have been waiting for several years.

There was a Founder's series delivery to a Seattle-area individual some time ago...perhaps early August. That person prefers anonymity.
The second Washington delivery was Special Sig #35, delivered in Redmond WA this afternoon. It was for Eric and Karen, long-time Roadster owners that once wrote a blog (posted on Tesla's site) about how they weren't shopping for a Roadster, but now plan to keep it along with their Model S. Their son is a Product Specialist at the local Tesla store. (Eric was the first Roadster owner I ever met in the wild; I ordered my Roadster later that same month).
It was standard, sig red, 19" wheels, black leather, lacewood, pano roof, paint armor. Exact reasons for the delivery delay were not clear; but apparently some part didn't pass Elon's inspection and had to be changed. They just found out this morning that it would be delivered this afternoon; they sent mail to local Model S reservationists. Four of us showed up to watch.
Here's a picture of Ben, the local delivery specialist (who has been busy delivering cars in many other parts of the country) as he got out of the car after taking it off the U-Haul trailer.

They went inside to sign paperwork, so I just peeked in the car. There was no sunshade for the pano roof; but the covering on the crossbar looked better than what I recall last time I saw one. No rear reading lights either. Panel gaps looked even, though not tiny. Paint looked great; paint armor wasn't the best I'd seen; though you had to be looking to notice. Leather looked great (not wrinkled). Cargo cover was in place, as was a cover for the low cargo area in the very back (the 3rd row footwell) that I hadn't seen before. Their car is almost identical to the one I'm expecting; I am sure my wife will be very happy with it!

The Westlake location received 3 Model S last Saturday evening. One is for the Bellevue Square store, the other two were to be prepped and delivered. No other details, I didn't see them.
Thanks for the post! Congrats to Eric and Karen. It is good to see a real-life photo of a sig red with 19" wheels, since that is what we are getting. The look is just fine, and I look forward to the significantly greater tire choices.

It says something about the size of the Model S that the 19" wheels look -- kinda small.

It would be cool if Elon autographed each car that he pulls out of the queue. It would be a bit of a bonus that might make the extra delay a bit easier to take.

I just got a call...mine (SSL#162, VIN 112) should get delivered Saturday. So I'll have it at National Plug In Day (http://www.pluginday.org) at Seattle Center on Sunday; anybody that wants to see it, come on by!
If you're going to be there anyway, you may as well register and enter the contest for the iPad giveaway (http://events.pluginday.org/p/salsa/web/common/public/content?content_item_KEY=11267), which is scheduled for 2:30.

Mine got hung up in transport. But it finally got delivered yesterday. Another local owner (VIN 111) got theirs immediately before me; yet another is probably signing papers right now. Plus richkae (VIN 106) got his a few days ago. And many more are supposed to be coming soon. It's good to see deliveries picking up.

The 2010 Roadster is mine. My son leases the 2005 Prius (with PHEV conversion). The 2003 RAV4-EV was my wife's old car, now on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-RAV4-Base-Sport-Utility-4-Door-2003-Toyota-RAV4-EV-factory-electric-vehicle-RAV4EV-/300785617139?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item46083848f3#ht_1882wt_1165). The 2012 Model S is my wife's new car.
