I see on the "team" page that the other co-founder and VP of Engineering, Marc Tarpenning, and the VP of Vehicle Engineering, Malcolm Smith, have now disappeared as well. Uh... d'ya still think this is just "normal" in the corporate world?

I can only lough.
They will create WhiteStar? Really? Who? Daryl and Ze'ev?
P.S. Time to change my signature...

Venture one is quite a bit different than a Whitestar. What about the Volt, Karma, Javlon, or a conversion for a sedan? Those seem to be closer to the Whitestar's specs. But I tend to agree, Whitestar is getting closer to a pipedream whereas these other vehicles are much closer to reality.

Well as each week goes by more and more of the original visionaries that created the Tesla Roadster are available to create the next great thing!
Does anyone with a better memory then I have a count on how many of the original leaders remain?
The best time for Tesla to provide a positive update on WhiteStar would be when the Roadster is in full production and in the hands of those early lucky buyers.
I would get skeptical if no additional information were made at that point.

Well, let's see.... A little over six months ago there were 12 members of the executive team, including 9 VPs:
Martin Eberhard (Co-Founder and CEO)
Marc Tarpenning (Co-Founder and Vice President, Engineering)
JB Straubel (Chief Technical Officer)
Malcolm Powell (Vice President, Vehicle Integration)
Gretchen Joyce (Vice President, Sales & Distribution)
Mike Harrigan (Vice President, Customer Service & Support)
Malcolm Smith (Vice President, Vehicle Engineering)
Tom Colson (Vice President, Manufacturing)
Ron Lloyd (Vice President, WhiteStar Program)
Darryl Siry (Vice President of Marketing)
Tim Wenzel (Vice President of Human Resources)
Gene Glaudell (Chief Information Officer)
Now... there are 6 members of the executive team, with only 3 VPs:
Ze'ev Drori (President & CEO)
JB Straubel (Chief Technical Officer)
Malcolm Powell (Vice President, Vehicle Integration)
Darryl Siry (Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Service)
Mike Taylor (Vice President of Finance)
Craig Harding (General Counsel)
Ergo... Straubel, Siry, and Powell are the only ones who are still there. If I interpret his short bio correctly, Powell is their point-main with Lotus. Human resources, sales and distribution, customer service and support, engineering, manufacturing, WhiteStar, etc.: all those areas of responsibility have been collapsed into these few remaining positions, or supplanted with an accountant and... a lawyer.
Their employment page doesn't list any VP positions open.
It is primary lower level engineering positions, although they do have these director level positions listed right now:
Director of Human Resources (San Carlos, CA) (http://www.teslamotors.com/about/employment.php?id=787)
Director of Inventory and Logistics (San Carlos, CA) (http://www.teslamotors.com/about/employment.php?id=740)
Director, Planning & Purchasing (San Carlos, CA) (http://www.teslamotors.com/about/employment.php?id=671)
Engineering Director - Battery Systems (San Carlos, CA) (http://www.teslamotors.com/about/employment.php?id=586)
