Please don't. They are really annoying. A certain very frequent (and productive) poster here just made his avatar animated, and it's supremely distracting. Stay with your cool Tesla pics! My two cents.

I have to agree. It is very distracting when you're trying to read. I hope this is a fad that goes away, or I'll have to stick to printed media. :frown:

Maybe, they are exercising the robots with Sig Red the most in the paint shop since most of the Sig res holders seem to be going for that?!

Hehe! Watch your laptop/tablet batteries run down that much faster! TEG's been doing this to us all for years :)

At least TEG's fan puts out a cooling breeze!

(is there and instructional link on how to do this?)

Can't say for sure as I haven't tried it but I imagine they're making an animated .gif file...

Make a GIF, Animated GIF Maker, Free GIF Generator | MySpaceGens.com (http://www.myspacegens.com/handler.php?gen=animatedimage)

I used Gickr.com - Best gif maker, make a gif in 2 seconds - upload pictures or get images from Flickr (http://gickr.com) - was able to specify the exact dimensions; 80 px horizontal is the max allowed for the avatar here but, I had to use something lower to keep the file size under the max allowed 19.5 KB. If your original file doesn't stay under those caps when you attempt to upload to TMC, it gets munged further and you lose the animation.

I think a velociraptor says 'rahr'. But I may be misinformed.

West coast is 'rahr'. And +1 on your off-topic apology :).

(But we ARE in the off-topic section of the forum. Is it really inappropriate to be off-topic in the off-topic forum?)

Haha, perhaps Robert.Boston can chime in and give us the New England version. Raih?

You guys can't even stay on topic after I had moved this previously off topic subject to its own thread.

Regarding animated avatars, I haven't been encouraging them since some members have complained about them in the past (see top of thread). They don't bother me, but I can see how they can be distracting/annoying.

It only bothers me when TEG's fan stops spinning.

It bothers me whenever I hear that a Roadster PEM fan stops spinning.
At least Tesla seems to have an upgrade for that old problem now.
