The new BMW design revolves around novel spring-loaded aluminum cage connector. The cage holds the connector in place, resisting aluminum's tendency to "creep" when hot and come loose.

Sounds like a good idea to reduce weight, but anyone who works with Aluminum wire knows that corrosion and termination can be an issue. Their comment that it 'may last 10 years' is not comforting.
