I hunted down a reference I read on EV World.

Kussmaul Auto Eject (http://www.kussmaul.com/auto%20and%20air%20ejects%20index.html)

It unplugs automatically when the truck is started. Prevents mistakes if you're in a hurry.

Can you imagine the scratches down the side of the car when it 'fires'?

It might be better than pulling the charging cable off the wall or the port on the car.

The best precaution of all is a garage arranged so you have to get past the cord to get into the driver's seat.

(I know, the Roadster won't start if it's plugged in, and all right-minded engineers will follow their lead.)

I just thought it was interesting in an automotive electrical connection related way.
