I don't watch Fox "news", and now I remember why. Who's the long-hair who wants the "welfare money" to go to curing kids' cancer? That question was so off base Diarmuid should have ignored it, or at least suggested that the bail-out money should have gone there.

Wow, Diarmuid O'Connell held his own extremely well. He thinks fast on his feet with compelling and succinct responses.

Yeah, I'm sure DOC has told all those stories many millions of times so he is a finely honed machine. Excellent work.

And the Roadster was never 80K.

Electric cars do help reduce children's cancer.

And Fox Business is still on the air?

That orange car interior must be the executive leather.

It's amazing/frustrating that the same network could have someone so much more knowledgeable about Tesla do an interview with Diarmuid where all questions are relevant and it's not a shouting match about "bailouts" and taxpayer money paying for a $100k plus car. Fox Cars interview (http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html?playerId=011008&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=6925535&referralPlaylistId=playlist&maven_referrer=staf)

Even after Diarmuid explains that technology has to start at a high price to get to scale, the idiot anchor says, "I wish you'd started with the low cost car." Jeez!! They don't have any IQ minimums for TV anchors, do they?!

PS -- TEG, "Telsa Fan" is cute, but I thought Mr. Incredible was much more apt for you, especially with >5000 posts :biggrin:

Part of me wished Diarmuid called Cody a "douchebag and an idiot", but he handled himself very well.

Diarmuid responded very well to those retarded questions. I like the way he laughed a little at Cody's pathetic rant about curing cancer. Diarmuid would make a great Tesla spokesman I think.

... Cody's pathetic rant about curing cancer. ...

No, it was curing KIDS cancer.

Much more hyperbolic.

This has to have been one of the worst interviews I have ever watched.

Diarmuid handled himself very well. I would hate to have his job.

Did anyone else notice the pictures of the Karma interlaced with the Roadster stock footage?

Worst. Interview. Ever.

I guess you guys found it too. They interviewed Ed Peper later on and we said the Roadster had nothing to do with the Volt. If I find it again I may do a part deux.

(Ah, found it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv-syASFgqA). YouTube search really sucks now)

From the You Tube comments.drivin98:

It's well known that Tesla inspired the Volt program. Bob Lutz has said so on several ocassions. Here's a quote from Newsweek;

That tore it for me, says Lutz. If some Silicon Valley startup can solve this equation, no one is going to tell me anymore that its unfeasible.

By the way, if that had been me and I had been asked the "cure kids cancer" question I would have clumsily answered hat by running a clean fuel vehicle that yes indeed there will be less children getting carcinogenic causing diseases.

The headline the next day would be "Tesla says it's car cures cancer!" That would not go over well.:frown:

ABG (http://www.autobloggreen.com/2009/07/17/fox-business-newsflash-tesla-motors-not-curing-childrens-cance/#comments) covers it too!
