where is the Energy Storage System, Power Electronics Module, and Motor located in the Model S?
If you view the On Cars video Franz Von Holzhausen quotes that the ESS (Batteries) are under the car and the engine is in the rear.
The PEM could be underneath as well or mounted in the front for easier servicing but Tesla have not made this clear yet.

ah ok, I must have missed that. I was unsure because there seems to be so much trunk space.

Yes. Tesla has described it as a skateboard-like architecture that encompasses the Energy Storage System and the Power Electronics Module.
Everything, from there up, is potential.
