Nope, but the fact that its a new model won't affect your place in the queue. Updates are sent at random - you get used to the fact that updates "will arrive when they arrive".

Interesting regarding the opt-out not having the chime by default as the icon still shows as if it were on... Unless it's a long standing bug.

I guess its a win win for WB if they force V3:- Not Open to All - Other EVs use theirs. Open to All - Blocked stalls, Tesla (in a hurry/impatient) use theirs.

I would be erring towards Yay as its more revenue to expand, and its more competition to drive down 3rd party charge providers. That said this installation at Woodall makes me want to say nay. Install V4s and install them central to the bay - no ambiguity as to which charger is yours then, and...

I had my front license plate removed. I had the tape as well as bracket holding on the plate with 2 screws from under the bumper.

I've never tried, and I have a 3 not an S, but could you access the back of the bumper by removing the moulding for the frunk potentially?

    Italy Trip

I am thinking about doing a sort of mini European road trip, but I would want to be fairly brief (say a week to 10 days). Of course, the issue with this is that I would have to be constantly on the go to fit in exploration, or fairly static in order to enjoy the location. I imagine my best bet...

    Model 3 Window tints acceptable?

Thanks for the info, I'll be looking to get the tint on the rear windows and the rear windscreen. My issue isn't so much with the roof matching the sides (although that would be nice) it's more that a lot of people in the UK will only tint the rear screen and not carry on up to the upper edge of...

    Stick on vinyl number plates

I made that mistake with a VW years ago, sold it with the car as the new car wasn't a VW... I've now had the same plate (which is a variance of my surname) for the last 8 years. I now actually prefer it as its a bit more personal than a brand/car on your numberplate.

    Stick on vinyl number plates

What is quite ironic is that ever since @spdpsba asking the question I am spotting more and more Tesla's with 3D and 4D plates both on Facebook posts and on the road.

    Model 3 Window tints acceptable?

(sorry to revive an old thread) This is most likely the case. Tint shops will cut on the outside as a template and then install on the inside, because of the drop when the door is open the template would have been off. I watched a video recently where the guy just used a screwdriver to trick the...

    Automatic boot - Highland

It only supports iPhone currently due to the need for UWB. Think this is mentioned in the release notes somewhere. Your phone has UWB, but the Tesla App for Android doesn't have the UWB stuff implemented yet due to complications caused by the nuances of UWB access on Android.

    Speed limit and warming chime

So, having been aimlessly scrolling I saw an article about intelligent speed assist. Interestingly this article claims that the UK opted out from the EU requirements for ISA, so I wonder if that is why Tesla have done a half hearted job of removing the chime... If it is a case that the speed...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Maybe not a global thing, but the dealership definitely did. "You will get updates and you can buy additional features" and within 6 months a load of those features could not be purchased for iDrive 5. But no, I get your point, there were not massive hoardings over the showroom walls.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I had a new 2016 BMW 2 Series Coupe in the past, and they upgraded iDrive from v5 to v6 in late 2016/early 2017. This was both a hardware and software upgrade and I was left with v5 in my car despite it only being 6-12 months old. I don't see how this is any different in principal - I was still...

I did this myself back in 2022. Ended up back in an EV this Feb. It was the convenience of having a full 'tank' all the time that was the draw for me (running errands without thinking 'do i need fuel on the way') paired with the fact that I rarely do long trips (>200 mile round trip) - maybe 4-5...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Depends what version you use really. V1 I have no experience of V2 is slower and you cannot share stalls (e.g. if 1A is in use, do not use 1B unless absolutely critical as it slows the 'pair'. Cable to short for other brands V3 open to all causes issues as charger is off on one side and so...

    Supercharger team sacked?

Indeed. For all we know it could be the SuC Design team and they have been fired as even after 4 iterations of SuC users are still complaining of shortcomings with the design. Of course, my idea is pure speculation, but its a different way of looking at it.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

This feature is likely to use UWB which isnt a component in the Y (yet) which is possibly why the Model Y is omitted from the feature. It is also being touted that it is only for iPhone for the time being, as the implementation of UWB on Android is somewhat more involved/challenging.

With the resurrection of this thread it prompted me to check the info for my 2024 Model 3 Long Range. I had options for "Model 3 Long Range AWD" or "Model 3 Long Range AWD 491" as my options and opted for the "AWD" one (with no number). Looking at the V5 now that I have the car, the Max. net...

    Tesla Phone Key

Surely it would only be a pain/problem on the occasions that it is on charge 🙂 How long have you left the phone still when you have been testing it? Both iOS and Android use the motion/activity data to 'sleep' the key if the phone is not moving - on iOS it will ask for this permission, on...

[UK] 2024 Order to Delivery discussion

I think, but don't quote me on it, that Tesla use a weird bank (maybe Citibank) and so the account verification doesn't work. I think I had the same when ordering both of my Model 3's. I'd just double and triple check that all of the information matches that which has been provided by Tesla...

I agree. If that Nissan Arya had a charge port on the other side (front or rear), assuming they are not a Tesla owner/driver as well, they would have used the charger on the Offside of the car rather than the one they are pictured using. As @zexpe has stated, its as much about habit/lack of...

Could also be a case of "if it is not central, it may not be obvious which charger to use". Some pics of other V4s I have seen show chargers have been installed in similarly to V2/V3s where they are in line with the lines of the bays so not obvious which to use. Maybe I am not giving the workers enough credit, but unless they have done a lot of installs or own a Tesla themselves, they probably don't know the difference. We are probably better of asking "does it/do they have the big hole in the middle or is it a 'solid' white box?" Like I say though...

    Stick on vinyl number plates

I have no idea why they are called 4D, I didn't name them... but there is a differentiation between 3D and 4D. 4D has a "stand off" letter/number, where are 3D are sort of domed. I would say it likely is 'both' tbh. Some people may like 3D/4D but don't like the faff of how to mount them.

    Stick on vinyl number plates

Personal preference really, different people like different things. Same reason that some people might buy a pink shirt, and another guy might think it is hideous. I bought mine on HP (as a stop gap) with a deposit of 35k. My bank (NatWest) had the same restriction in place... though the website portal told me to do it in the app. Same issue arose in the app, but it had an option to "Continue with one time large sum transfer" (or something like that)

    Model 3 Highland Performance

Maybe I am an edge case here, but when I bought my M3LR back in 2021 I was not tempted by the M3P - I didn't need the power and the styling upgrades were mediocre. With this in mind I ordered a M3LR in November expecting to feel the same about the new M3P, and to a degree I kind of wish I...
