    Sunroof motor location!

Yea I know :) but why would it be important to do so? Its another thing to work on somethink like pumps that “might” turn on, but how can work on panoramic roof be compromised with active 12v?

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

Toolbox v2 works, but you need a "special" version, some people even charge for it - bastards. Once installed, you still need the online sub but then it works fine.

    Sunroof motor location!

hm, I dont think you need to disconnect the high voltage battery. It is for safety, but its very unlikely anything will go wrong?

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

The "louvre angle fix" is not available in the new toolbox anymore. you need the toolbox 2 for it. if all louvers move i see no point in replacing them, but to fix them as described in this thread.

    Sunroof motor location!

Just dig in, ita not that hard if you are at least a semi mechanic guy. Just bear in mind. You have a v1 sunroof, right? Tesla does not sell parts for it, and you might need a second hand one if ita available at all. But maybe some parts from v2 also fits on v1?

    Sunroof motor location!

Is that old location for the fakkra? Isnt it behind the slot under the mcu?

    Sunroof motor location!

No idea about the cable, try to take a better picture of it...but I think i also see similar cable in the Tesla's service manual I posted? About the roof...Both motors move the glass. Each on every side. And there is no way you will move the glass with motors attached, impossible. Thats why I'd...

    Sunroof motor location!

I dont have this component installed next to the motor, but my best guess its the premium amplifier, correct? It needs to be removed first to access the motor, follow this: Model S Service Manual | Tesla step 8.

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

Neverming my previous post, here is another video of achually replacing the louvers on an older model and person in this video shows which screws under needs to be unscrewed:

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

One more question, if I am somehow unable to repair the current louver is it safe to not install it back while waiting for new part - to preserve some time for future repairs, or shall I install it back in to protect the radiator which would otherwise be exposed to dirt/debris?

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

Hmm...so I was about to remove my front bumper to access the louvers, but one of the 10mm bolt is stucked so I aborted and have to visit my mechanic friend to see if he can remove it. Anyhow, was browsing the internet to get a better idea on how to remove the bumper and found this video...

    Sunroof motor location!

I found this for removing the motor: Post in thread 'Sunroof motor location!' Sunroof motor location! Once you do this you have to try to slide the sunroof, from the front to back, slightly prese up from inside. Once you get a hand of it its easy…but if its stucked maybe it wont move at all
  15. L

    Sunroof motor location!

Let me elaborate... Mainly two things can go wrong with the sunroof, or mostly just one. Roof is "stucked", not because of faulty motors (which can happen thou) but because it was not maintained properly and now it wont slide the way it should. So first establish if roof can move freely by...
  16. L

    Sunroof motor location!

I would suggest to remove the motors and see if you can move the roof by hand
  17. L

    Sunroof motor location!

Like a grinding noise? did it work earlier and then stopped? Might be the sunroof is blocked and gringing noise means motors try to open, but cannot.

Bought a lovely 2015 MS, but now panoramic stuck

Finally able to take this apart. Everything was smooth (just time consuming) but somehow the "hole" in the cable got broken (either from removing the Link from it or some old damange), this part: Broken looks like this: It should be like this: This part of the Link goes into this...

Insane repair estimate for 2015 MS

tbh, OP could just decline those "unneeded" repairs and only accept the work on suspension. As someone said, its a luxury model and maybe service center decided its time to replace the brakes as they might be worn out - not completely, but close to it? and as they are working on the suspension...

Alignment is Perfect, STILL Pulling to the Left

just out of curiosity...didnt you notice any of the following symptoms prior to inspecting it manually? A feeling of pulling when braking or accelerating. Uneven tire wear from left to right. Tire wear patterns that show signs of camber wear. A clunking noise during accelerating or braking. A...

Alignment is Perfect, STILL Pulling to the Left

I honestly dont dare to do that with my car only on the small jack. I fear it will "fall off", so I took it to the garage that did exactly that and we found an issue with lower arm.
  31. L

Alignment is Perfect, STILL Pulling to the Left

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the "easiest" way to check these bushings? Can this be seen just to access the arms (removing wheel) or they have to be taken off?

    Ordering from EPC?

Hm....i cannot see "parts only"... under Other i only see Alerts, Keys, Other...and under other there is input for direct request, nothing about parts... Maybe they removed this from the app?

How to order through Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC)?

How the heck can we then order the parts?

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

Hmmmm....this is "odd"... today I noticed, while the car was AC plugged (and finished charging), both louvers were opened and no active alerts showing... Maybe my issue is fixed, will go and DC charge the car later. Hope for the best :)

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

Sorry, no idea. Did not know the "F" are crap. I just know what Tesla told me and that is that i need whole new "package" due to new version of the "housing" - no idea thou what this means. Maybe the "G" are for newer tesla's ?

70D 2015/16 range on original battery

fyi, my 70D, according to toolbox v2, is on original battery, manu 2015/7 (the sticker fell off of it) and it did 177k miles. According to SMT it have 61kWh capacity from original 66kWh, meaning only 8% loss. Around 28% SuC usage lifetime and 32% last 40k miles since I bought it.

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

and another fyi, both of my "bumper" louvers do move, so its not a problem with the actuator or something else, the left just over-extends causing the car to throw the alarm code and not opening it. and another fyi. There is a v2 version of them available from tesla, but for the upgrade they...

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

fyi, the connection for toolbox v2 is pretty simple, but the toolbox subscription is required. Just connect to the vehicle via toolbox web console, then open the toolbox v2 and everything works.
  42. L

    Has anyone repaired cooling louvers?

I tried one more time, with the toolbox, but its unable to calibrate properly. It seems that tesle is aware of this hence this function: so yea, louvers are over extending and failing the calibration, but even with this fix it did not help me for both louvers, only one got calibrated properly...
