Trying to understand my options for a second set of rims for a '23 MYP

Tesla let me buy them for my P. I made the purchase on the online site vs app and just picked them up at the SC and installed at home 🤷

Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty

Maybe it has been mentioned, if you wake up your vehicle with the app then all works well. Stupid work around but it works.

    HepaKing Alpine PXE-X121-12EV DSP Review

I like the seat pressure switch idea. Adds an extra layer of protection.

    HepaKing Alpine PXE-X121-12EV DSP Review

I got enough of the “are you done working on your car” lecture with the twin subs over a couple weekends. Would be living alone if I went all in like your setup. Must sound great.

    HepaKing Alpine PXE-X121-12EV DSP Review

Looking great. Much of the fun of many hobbies is the research, planning, building, problem solving, and getting things to work well, and constantly better. Incredibly frustrating for my wife 😂

Intermittent Electrical Problem Tesla Can't Fix, 5 Months Left on Warranty

Same issue here. USB drive is not accessible most of the time without a soft reboot. I had this problem a while ago and it went away. Came back recently. I even purchased a new storage device but it didn’t fix the issue. Seems like a software problem.

    HepaKing Alpine PXE-X121-12EV DSP Review

I had thought about a larger subwoofer mounted in that space, but use the area often for road trips with the family. Your craftsmanship looks great.

    800W RMS Amplifier install on 2022 model Y with new 15.5V Li-ion battery/AMD system

Penthouse for me with a switch to disable the system. No issues, but i also have the older 12V battery.

Would be great to see some final pics. Upgrade to the 1K sub amp and it will be an amazing system. Well done.

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

Wow, keep us posted on this install looks exciting. You will not regret the 1K sub amp as long as you take precautions to keep the 12V battery happy.

Hi, the remote OUT from the LOC goes into this switch, then the other side goes back into the Amplifier. You can then toggle the amp on and off separately from the LOC. Not a lot of power going through this wire. Have yet to have an issue since installing and I always turn it off when...

Any issues with the JL mounting depth? I may go this same route if/when my NVX subs die. Would wire to a 1-ohm load to get the full 1,000 watts. Thanks!

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

Do they make a grill for that sub? The NVX system is nice for the custom box. They used their entry level sub, probably not as robust as other options. Edit: I see you used a 4 ohm sub. With two running in parallel you get a 2 ohm load. Any reason you selected this vs the 2 ohm version for a...

Heat pump issue after windshield replacement

You may be able to reinstall your software through the ‘secret’ service menu. If a new temp/humidity sensor was used then it needs to ‘pair’ with your vehicle by reinstalling the software. If this is what is happening, then Safelite can also help.

That is pretty quick if they can finish by the 13th. Will offer a tentative congrats.

Hope everyone’s Sunday is going better than ours

If your Y is safe and drivable, I’d ask them to order all parts and you drive your Y until it is your turn for repair. Then start the rental. They will disassemble and inevitably find more damage and have to order more parts. At that point they won’t likely reassemble and give your car back...

Hope everyone’s Sunday is going better than ours

That is $15k+ damage. I had just a hatch replacement and it was ~$12K. Glad everyone is ok and hope your insurance makes you whole. Not sure how your insurance treats rental car coverage but mine was 45 days and repairs took several weeks longer to get all the parts. It is a frustrating...

Model Y lift gate sticky issue

I am having this same issue since new. Even had a new hatch installed due to an accident and it still happens. It seems as if the door seals are sticking as mentioned above. Will try some light oil on the seals at some point, or maybe armor all.

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

If you mean the dual + and - speaker terminals on the amp, it does not matter. There are two to make it easier for installing two speakers. They tie together as one inside the amp. Use what ever + and - terminal you want.

Or get a 48V to 12V DC-DC converter. Who wants to try first 😄

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

It should work fine in that scenario. 16 gauge wire is plenty for this low amp situation. I would also fuse it right at the amp tap to catch any possible short. It would also turn off ALL components in the chain, which is not a terrible idea.

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

It eventually goes to sleep, may take some time. I do think the car wakes up from time to time, which will turn on the LOC and amp. I recommend the manual toggle switch to assure the amp stays off until you want the bass. Another option is tapping into the seat sensor switch so the LOC and amp...

They come wired as a 2 ohm load (DVC 4 ohm subs wired in parallel). Wire two boxes together in parallel and you get a 1 ohm load. My OCD got the best of me and I took the subs out of each box, enlarged the wiring and added some poly fill. I’m just a nerd like that…probably overkill.

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

FWIW, I have had 0 problems with the 1,000 watt amp as long as the toggle switch is used. You could use the toggle switch to control the power to the LOC, which would then shut down the entire system including the LOC and amp when the toggle switch is off. I have the 12V battery and connected...

Aftermarket 1000 watt amp model Y

The 12V out from the LOC will go to the toggle switch. The other wire in the toggle switch will go to the remote turn on lead for the amplifier. It is a very basic ‘manual’ circuit breaker. Sorry, don’t have any drawings. It is very simple.

Never too greedy! Sealed boxes have their place but if you want strong, deep low-end, a great ported box can be amazing. Getting there with a sealed box takes a lot more power. Don’t see too many SPL competitors with sealed setups.

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

Agreed, never had an issue with the 500 watt NVX amp using signal sense. Upgrading to the 1000 watt amp causes the issue, and the toggle switch fixed it. I am fairly confident it is because the 1000 watt amp draws more current.
  33. C

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

Are you saying it turns off right away, or when the vehicle goes to sleep and turns off the factory amp? Mine is would also turn off when going to sleep but that draw on the larger 1,000 watt amp for ~10 minutes was enough to drain the 12V battery after a few weeks. Keep us posted, thanks!
  34. C

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

I was wondering if the XLCA2X would solve this issue. The LOC turns off when the vehicle goes to sleep. It also draws very little power. The problem happens when the LOC turns ‘on’ the amplifier, which does draw a decent amount of power. The toggle switch solves it, just not an elegant solution.

Too much Bass??? 46 here, you can always have more. Still waiting for someone to try the DB speakers to see if they fit in the NVX box. I would then get two of them and increase the amp to nearly 2,000 watts 😈 I have my crossover set around 60 hz to use these to hit the deeper notes and it...

NVX Boost Subwoofer upgrade - installed

Just curious, but if you turn the LOC volume knob to 0 and just use the amp volume knob, OR turn the amp volume knob to 0 and just use the LOC volume knob, is there a difference? In theory, this should be doing the same thing unless your LOC is applying some sort of variable bass enhancement as...

Well snap, how about that. Does that black plastic piece come up to run the wires under it or can you put some small holes through it to run the wires? You can also go under the rubber piece along the side towards the front then take a hard left :)

Right at the drivers side against the seat. Easy to run the wires here and really easy to access when driving. Armrest is nice but you would be opening and closing it all of the time. You are so close. Excuse the dirty car as well, dogs shed really bad!

Wow, definitely need to update their site. Hopefully they will take back this box since you are going full custom. Their amp and LOC work great, but the whole point of the box is a great fit and good sound.

It seems their boost box does not fit the 2023 Y and will need some tweaks. Believe their website says it is for a 2020-2022 Y.

Add a manual toggle switch or tap into the driver seat sensor…which would only turn on the amp when you are in the driver’s seat.

You can use their 500W amp on 2 subs, it is 1 ohm stable. It is just a bit low on power but still sounds good. 1000W sounds great!
